Forklift Extension Boom
Extension Boom for Forklift - Generally, we think of forklifts as machines utilized for moving and lifting pallets. There are extensions existing to give the lift truck more strength and more length for heavier loads. By using one of the four main forklift booms, your lift truck could be helpful for various other functions. The four major forklift booms are the shooting boom, the carpet boom, the coil boom and the pipe boom. Each of these are intended for attachment onto your lift truck.
Coil Poles
Coil poles are connected to the carriage of the lift truck. They were used for transferring rolled coils and other rolled material like for instance reels of wire or concrete poles. Coil poles will allow you to transfer whatever rolled or cylinder material too.
Carpet Poles
Carpet poles are made to mount directly to the forklifts' carriage and are constructed from EN24T steel. They are referred to as carpet poles but are also used in order to transport other sorts of rolled floor coverings as well as cylinder products. They do not have the capability to pick up heavy objects like for example concrete pipes or coil poles.
Shooting Forklift Booms or Telehandlers
Shooting forklift booms may also be called telehandlers or telescopic booms and are very handy on rough terrains. This particular type of boom could hoist personnel to heights of 20-40 feet. These booms are usually utilized outside on construction jobsites or within the agricultural industry.
Booms Should Not Be Utilized On Pipes

It is recommended that a lifting sling be used in place of a pipe boom in this particular application. Occasionally, cylinder shaped pipes and steel pipes must be transported with a boom when a lifting sling is unavailable. Additional Types
There are two other booms that can be utilized by the lift truck and they both connect to the blades instead of the carriage. They enable an easy transition from pallet to rolled or coiled things together with the extra benefit of providing a clear line of sight for the individual operating it.
Guidance for Safety
Individuals operating the forklifts must complete training to be able to operate the machinery in the most safe and practical way. Training is made to keep the person operating it safe and to be able to prevent injury to people who are working in the same area. Lift trucks are a heavy piece of industrial machinery and considered to be a potentially dangerous machine. Individuals who work with and around them have to comply with and know all of the safety precautions.
Additional training must be provided to people who will be working with forklift booms. This would make certain they know how to carefully work the booms. Accidents have happened on the job from failure to safely operate a boom. Some manufacturers offer training courses on the various types of booms and several offer on-site training where workers could be trained directly where they would be working. This on-hand training allows the trainer a chance to deal with all safety concerns at that specific job site.
